Last winter I went skiing and had to miss out on a day of trekking because the snowshoes hired out by Intersport didn't fit my boots.

Does anyone know an outdoor store maybe Canadian or Russian or Scandanavian, where they sell snow shoes up to size 14 (50) ?

Thanks

Adam

Hi,

We currently have 2 boots suitable for hiking in the snow available in size 14. Please take a look here http://www.walktall.co.uk/index.php/cPath/2_94 and hopefully these will solve your trekking problems.

Hope this helps.

Aha. OK I see I should have provided a clearer picture of what I need here:

I've got the boots already, a great pair of Meindl hiking shoes.

When I said 'snow shoes' what I meant was those tennis racket type things which you bind to your boots which enable you to walk on the snow, rather than through it.

I suppose at a stretch I could just hang around some charity shops and try to pick up 2 old tennis rackets but I think the real things are probably better to walk on

Ah I c, sorry about that. I'm afraid I am out of advice on this one then. Hope you find what you are looking for. I am off skiing at the beginning of January but have never been before so Snow Shoes are a little bit ahead of me I think.

I hope you enjoy the skiing, and check out the ski hire shops for snowshoes - if they have them in your size!

Though i haven't done it (obviously) I'm sure a day trekking through the snow gives you a completely different experience of the mountains, to make a break from the skiing.

Thanks for the advice, I'm sure after days of falling over skiing and trek will be a nice change.
